The five-member special task force headed by K Vijay Kumar, senior security advisor to Ministry of Home Affairs, submitted a 29-page report to the Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday.

It is learnt that the STF was of the opinion that there would be no escalation of naxal problem after the bifurcation of the state. STF is also said to have made it clear that bifurcation would not lead to any kind of law and order problem.

The task force recommended that the elite commando force like Grey Hounds, Octopus, Counter intelligence, police wireless and police transport should be jointly used by both the states till a proper administrative structure was put in place. It also recommended that fresh appointments in the police department should be made based on the requirements and after proper assessment of shortage of staff.

It also recommended that the AP Police Academy should be allowed to be used by both the states even after bifurcation of the state. According to a source, it had suggested that issues like law and order should be under the control of the Governor and proper measures should be taken to ensure that the people from Seemandhra region staying in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana were not forced to sell away their property and move out.

The STF felt that the slogans given by some political parties had created fear among the people of Seemandhra region and measures of confidence building should be taken up.
