Balaram Naik calls on Sonia

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Balram Naik on Tuesday called on the UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi in Delhi and appealed for including Bhadrachalam revenue division in Telangana, even after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

He spoke to media after the meeting and said that he had requested the AICC president to include Bhadrachalam revenue division in Telangana state. He said he brought into the notice of Sonia Gandhi that the people of Bhadrachalam division strongly want them to be the part of Telangana state and not the part of residual Andhra Pradesh. It is learnt that he also conveyed Sonia that Khammam district observed a Bundh for the very cause. He said that any decision on the issue including the RayalaTelangana will be taken by the Union Government.
