Hyderabad: A TDP delegation led by the party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu would leave for New Delhi on Monday to file a petition before the Centre against Brijesh Kumar tribunal verdict on Krishna water sharing and injustice meted out to Andhra Pradesh in water allocation. Naidu along with Telugu Desam parliamentary party leaders including N Nageshwara Rao and MLAs and MPs and senior leaders representing the constituencies, which come under Krishna ayacut area in Telangana and Seemandhra, would meet the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Minister for Water Resources Harish Rawat in national capital.
Party sources said that the party also sought the appointment of President Pranab Mukherjee to apprise him of the impact of the tribunal’s verdict on the State agricultural sector as well as other allied sectors if the State denied the utilisation of surplus waters in Krishna.
Party leaders said that Naidu would also explain the Union government about the exploitation of Krishna waters by the upper riparian States, Karnataka and Maharashtra, against Bachawat tribunal award during his meeting.
