Rayala Telangana will trigger massive protests: Dy CM

Hyderabad: T-Congress leaders, including the Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha on Wednesday, registered their strong opposition to the proposal of Rayala Telangana.

The Deputy Chief Minister in his letter to the GoM said that people of Telangana would not accept the proposal under any circumstances. He advised the GoM to prepare its report based on the resolution passed by the Congress Working Committee. He said any modifications in the Telangana proposal, as passed by the CWC and later approved by the Union Cabinet, would trigger massive protests in the region. Rajanarasimha said the T-Congress leaders were finding themselves in an awkward situation, due to propping up of the proposal to create Rayala Telangana. He said that such a move would badly hurt the prospects of Congress party in the Telangana region.

“The people of the region are shocked and are confused following reports about the GoM considering creation of Rayala Telangana,” he said.

Rajanarasimha added, “People of Telangana would not accept anything except T state with 10 districts with Hyderabad as a common capital. Any move to deviate from this decision of Congress Working Committee, would hurt the sentiments of the people from the region and it would be disastrous for the Congress in the ensuing general elections in the Telangana region.”
