Karimnagar: Criminal cases were registered against several TDP and YSRCP legislators from Seemandhra, here, on Tuesday for allegedly "insulting" the Telangana Bill. Leaders of the two parties had "insulted" the Bill in the Assembly on Monday, advocate Bethi Mahender Reddy said later.

He alleged that TDP legislators Devineni Umamaheswar Rao, Dhulipala Narendra, Vengapudi Ramakrishna Babu, MLC Nannapaneni Rajakumari (MLC), MLAs G Srikanth Reddy, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and Shobha Nagi Reddy (YSRCP) allegedly tore and burnt copies of the Bill in the Assembly.
Reddy alleged that the legislators had humiliated 4.5 crore people of Telangana and caused agony by insulting the Bill.
‘Disgraceful’ and ‘reprehensible’ comments by the egislators promoted enmity between people of Telangana and Seemandhra, he said.Alleging that such acts were nothing but disrespect to the Constitution, he filed a criminal case in the Judicial First Class Magistrate court. Magistrate Azhar Hussain referred the case to Karimnagar Two Town Police for investigation, under Sections 153, 153-A, 153-B of IPC, sources said.
