New Delhi: An all-party delegation led by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy arrived here on Thursday night. The delegation will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and submit a memorandum on the Krishna water tribunal award on Friday.

Before leaving for Delhi Kiran said in Hyderabad that the delegation would explain to the Prime Minister as to how the state would be affected by the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal award on Krishna water. He said it would try to impress upon the PM how it would have a bearing on the policies of the state government and the ongoing irrigation projects under Jalayagnam.

The Chief Minister said that since the state government had decided to file another Special Leave Petition in the SC, he would urge the PM to see that the Centre implead itself in the case wherever possible.

The delegation, he said, would point out the defects in the Tribunal award. It would insist that the state should be allowed to use the surplus water taking 75 per cent dependability into account. The members would also protest against the manner in which the surplus water has been distributed.

Kiran would receive ‘The Best State: Governance’ award being presented by the India Today Group. He would also participate in a panel discussion after the award ceremony along with Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, Goa CM Manohar Parrikar, Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, J&K CM Omar Abdullah and Union Minister for Overseas Affairs Vayalar Ravi.
