Visakhapatnam: A team of Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) has nabbed a 33 year-old Indian Navy Sailor of Eastern Naval Command Subhash Dutta here on Thursday on the charges of sending obscene SMSs to a wife of a merchant navy man.

The CCIC Inspector K Satyanarayana said that the merchant navy man and his wife were residing in Malkapuram area in the city. The accused Subhash Dutta, sailor of INS Rajput, somehow secured the mobile number of the merchant navy man’s wife and began sending abusive SMS messages using four SIM cards of various networks. Unable to bear the harassment, the woman told her husband who in turn lodged a complaint with Malkapuram police on September 6 this year.

Subsequently, the case was transferred to CCIC and Inspector Satyanarayana, SI S Ramesh and team collected the anonymous numbers and nabbed the accused and seized a Samsung mobile and four SIM cards.
