Samaikyandhra History: 2013 Could Be Last Page, Division of Andhra Pradesh. The whole series of past events connected with a particular person or thing is known as history

The whole series of past events connected with a particular person or thing is known as history. In the Indian History, more specifically, in Andhra Pradesh history, 2013 will ever remain as the concluding chapter, as far as the United Andhra Pradesh is concerned. At this crucial juncture, until and unless a miracle happens, nothing can thwart the formation of Telangana.
The bond that last for 58 years will be geographically broken. There is no doubt that people from either region will still have the same amity and affinity for each other. Despite this fact, the truth of bifurcation leaves the people more worried. 2013 turned to be decisive, as far as the political Andhra Pradesh is concerned.
From one side the people of Telangana are celebrating their joy of an imminent statehood of Telangana; and from the other side, the people of Seemandhra region have been opposing the move.

Let’s have a look on the matter. What made the bifurcation issue to hit the heights? Who are responsible for this? Undoubtedly, it is the elite politicians, who are responsible for the burning issue that existed for these many years. The merger of Telangana with the then Andhra state was rather conditional and solemnly agreed upon by many conditions widely known as Gentlemen’s agreement. Umpteen times, the promises were made to be broken. If the agreements could have been followed both in letter and spirit, such a situation could have not occurred. Many violations like gentlemen’s agreement , 5 point formula, 8 point formula, Mulki rules, 610 GO came into existence as solutions for the single problem. But, nothing has been worked out with a true spirit. If they might have been implemented both in letter and spirit, this situation could have not arisen for sure.
Who is to be blamed for this? Definitely, it’s not the common man who is blame worthy. People from either region are not responsible for this. But, definitely the politicians should be held responsible for ruining the situation further and further. If we clearly examine the changes that have taken place after December, 2009, the politicians have come out with varied strategies and changed colors more frequently than a chameleon. Gone are the days, when people used to be befooled by the politicians, very easily. This is an era of Satmass Media. People get infotainment through news. They do not rely on one source of information, knowing the fact that even media take sides.
Shattering everyone’s expectations, on July 30 this year, the Congress Working Committee gave a nod for the formation of Telangana. Subsequently, many changes and many more attempts to counter the changes have come into the picture. Now, the issue of Telangana formation has reached the last rung of the ladder. We all are aware that Telangana formation is imminent. So, nothing can be done as far as stopping the formation of Telangana is concerned. But, so much can be done to establish the same amity between the people of two regions. The need of the hour is to address this particular issue.
There is a need to safeguard the feelings of the common man hailing from either region. The influential leaders, the learned lot, and the media have to play a collective role to bring down the emotions of the people and to normalize the situation. Let’s hope 2014 will bring happiness for all people.
