2014 polls will see war of Kurukshetra: Babu, Kurukshetra, NT Rama Rao birth anniversary celebration. Naidu held the Congress party responsible for the increase in the cases of atrocities against women, spiralling prices of essential commodities and unabated land encroachments.

Hyderabad: Describing the next general election as war of ‘Kurukshetra’, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said it was certain that his party would assume power before the State celebrates the birth anniversary of the party founder president NT Rama Rao in May this year.

Speaking to the media after paying tributes to NTR on his 18th death anniversary at NTR Trust Bhavan, Naidu recalled the yeoman services rendered by NTR to the Telugu community when he was the Chief Minister. NTR also played a crucial role in forming the National Front government at the Centre and changed the course of national politics, he said.

Naidu held the Congress party responsible for the increase in the cases of atrocities against women, spiralling prices of essential commodities and unabated land encroachments. He wondered why the government was not taking action against people responsible for smuggling of red sanders and attacks on forest officials. He said the NTR Trust had entered into an agreement with LV Prasad Eye Institute and KIMS blood bank. Naidu also presented cheques of Rs 25,000 each to 12 minor girls who were allegedly molested by a tutor in Nalgonda district.
