Hyderabad: Speculations are rife in the national capital that the Centre was planning to bring Andhra Pradesh under President’s rule.

According to sources, the party high command is unhappy with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his 'misdemeanour' of sitting on dharna opposing the decision to divide the state and moving a resolution in the State Assembly rejecting the State Reorganisation Bill 2013. Union Finance minister P Chidambaram is said to have already sounded Kiran to quit. Sources indicated that he would resign after the vote-on-account scheduled on February 10-12 and float a new party.

AICC general secretary in-charge of state affairs Digvijay Singh is learnt to have expressed his ire over Kiran when the T Congress leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister C Damodara Rajanarasimha called on him in Delhi on Wednesday and complained to him against the attitude of Kiran Reddy. Digvijay Singh is understood to have dropped hints that the party leadership will take action against him at appropriate time for defying the Centre’s decision.

Meanwhile, speculation gained further ground as reports came in that Governor ESL Narsimhan has been asked to come to New Delhi on February 12. However, Raj Bhavan sources told The Hans India that Governor was going to Delhi to attend the three-day Governors conference which would be chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and it had no political significance.

But the political circles here claim that the Centre would seek the views of the Governor.
