Hyderabad: BJP state chief G Kishan Reddy on Saturday accused TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy of luring BJP top brass with 25 MPs from State if the national party backed off from supporting Telangana Bill in Parliament. However, BJP, which was known for its morals and discipline, did not yield to the pressure but stuck to its stand, which paved the way for the formation of Telangana state, he said.

Kishan Reddy returned to the city to a thunderous welcome on Saturday. Thousands of party leaders and activists thronged Secunderabad Railway Station to give a rousing welcome.

Speaking to reporters, Kishan Reddy expressed thanks to Sushma Swaraj and the national leadership for fulfilling the five-decade-old dream of Telangana people. He said that BJP would strive for lifting of police cases filed against T supporters and activists in the separate state movement besides exerting pressure on the newly-formed government in Telangana to reach out to families of thousands of martyrs.

Accompanied by BJP leaders and thousands of supporters, Kishan Reddy took out a big rally from Secunderabad till Martyrs Memorial statue at Gun Park.

Earlier in the day, party MLAs Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Yannam Srinivas Reddy arrived at Shamshabad Airport and proceeded towards Mahbubnagar district for a meeting.

BJP to go it alone in polls

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference in the afternoon, BJP senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya said that his party would contest upcoming general elections alone in both the States. The chief minister candidates for both states would be announced at a suitable time, he said.
