Naidu gives call for ‘BC Rajyam’ in Telangana region

  • Says TDP will keep promise of ‘100 seats to the BCs’
  • Calculated move as TRS non-committal on its word
  • KCR had in the past vowed to make a Dalit the CM
  • BC leaders led by R Krishnaiah call on the TDP chief

Hyderabad: While TRS appears to be going back on its word of making a Dalit as the Chief Minister, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday announced that TDP would make a backward class leader as the Chief Minister in the Telangana region if it comes to power.

He said the electoral battle of 2014 will be akin to that of war of Kurukshetra. He appealed to the BC leaders, who led by R Krishnaiah called on him at NTR Trust Bhavan, to take up the election as a challenge and strive for the victory of the party in the election. The party is making all-out efforts to fulfill the promise made by him that 100 seats would be allotted to BCs in the Assembly election, he said.

He said that it was the TDP which had worked for the uplift of BCs socially and politically. The BCs were given freedom from ‘Patwari system’ after the party founder President NT Rama Rao abolished the system in the villages of Telangana. NTR was the ‘messaiah’ of BCs who got rid of slavery under the TDP rule, he said.

Exuding confidence that his party would emerge victorious in both Telangana and Seemandhra regions, he said “Dharamam is on the side of the TDP this time. People will definitely give their mandate to the TDP.”

Naidu hoped that the ‘ BC Rajyam’ would come to power by defeating all forces. Coming down heavily on TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao, the TDP leader said KCR made promise to give CM post to Dalits and Deputy CM post to Muslims after the bifurcation of the state. Now, KCR had taken U-turn on his promises and maintaining silence on the two important promises.

BC Sangham President R Krishna urged all BC organisations to come under a single roof and support the TDP which has been fighting for the political rights of BCs.
