TRS Chief KCR Announces a Slew of Sops. Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday announced a slew of sops for voters in Telangana, including waiver of Rs 1 lakh farmer’s loans totaling Rs 1,200 crore a year, compulsory education, turmeric research centre in Mothe and takeover of the Nizam Sugar Factory.

Mothe (Nizamabad): Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday announced a slew of sops for voters in Telangana, including waiver of Rs 1 lakh farmer’s loans totaling Rs 1,200 crore a year, compulsory education, turmeric research centre in Mothe and takeover of the Nizam Sugar Factory.
He had visited Mothe village of Velpur mandal for the first time during the party formation day meeting in 2001. Now, he visited the village again as part of his election campaign. KCR pledged to construct two-bedroom houses for weaker sections costing Rs 3 lakh each, if voted to power. He would attend the ‘bhoomi pooja’ of the first house here in the region.
His other promises include bringing the Godavari water for drinking purpose through the Gutpa project and setting up a model school in Mothe.
During the next visit, he pledged to take part in mass feeding programme and solve any problem of Mothe in return for the stellar role played by the villagers during the Telangana agitation.
KCR pointed out that it would be possible to ‘reconstruct’ the new state only if TRS was voted to power. Without naming the Congress, he ridiculed the claims of leaders who have been in power so far that they had a hand in the formation of Telangana.
Earlier, he arrived at Mothe in a helicopter. On his head, he carried a sack containing sand from the village. He opened the sack as he had pledged 14 years ago, after Telangana was formed. Women carrying ‘bonalu’ accompanied him as he walked to the meeting venue.
