Ponnala hits back at KCR

Hyderabad: Telangana PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah took on TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao for the comments he had made against him at a public meeting in Medak on Tuesday.

Addressing the press here on Wednesday, Ponnala questioned KCR to explain what he had done for the development of Telangana during his 30 year political career as MLA, MP, Deputy Speaker and union minister. He said, KCR never focused his attention on the development of the T region. Instead he obstructed the Congress from developing the region. Such a leader was now making promises for development of Telangana to lure the voters, he said. He also found fault with KCR statement that Singur river water was being shifted to Hyderabad without any allocations for Medak district from where the river Manjeera flows.

Lakshmaiah clarified that the Singur water has been allocated for irrigation and drinking water purpose in the district. It was the Congress government which had improved irrigation facility in Medak and had taken up Pranahita Chevella multipurpose irrigation project to solve water scarcity in Telangana districts, the TPCC president said.
