Vijayanagaram: Rs 15.50L seized from auto rickshaw

Hyderabad: On Friday, the police have carried out impulsive checks on the highway at Jonnavada of Denkada Mandal in Vijayanagaram district, in view of the orders of Election Commission. The police have found illegal possession of Rs.15.50L from a person. The amount was hidden inside an auto rickshaw. The same has been seized apart from detaining the individual.

In another similar incident, early on Friday, the Excise Officials have carried out the spur-of-the-moment checks in view of the ongoing election code in the state. In an incident, the police have found illegal possession of liquor from a vehicle coming from Karnataka on its way to Mahabubnagar district. The liquor is estimated worth for Rs 7L, added sources. The liquor has been seized apart from detaining the accused. A case has been booked and investigations are on.

In the third incident, during a snap check carried out by the police at Palamakula of Shamshabad mandal in Ranga Reddy district early on Friday, the police have found illegal possession of Rs 8cr from passengers who were travelling by a bus which was on its way to Hyderabad from Bangaluru. As many as five people have been held apart from seizing the cash. More details are awaited.
