Hyderabad: The government has decided to convert Lake View Guest House as the Camp Office of Chief Minister of residuary Andhra Pradesh. Police officials proposed the building for the AP Chief Minister’s camp office keeping the security reasons in view. A high-level meeting held at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday chalked out various plans to complete the division of Assembly and Secretariat buildings between the two States by May 20. Governor ESL Narasimhan directed the senior officials to personally monitor the progress of works related to the allotment and upkeep of the chambers meant for elected governments.

He also instructed the Legislative Secretary S Raja Sadaram to take appropriate steps to keep ready the Legislative Assembly and Council halls and complete the civil works before May 20. The committee proposed to convert the Jubilee Hall to convene the first session of the Legislative Council of the Andhra Pradesh. The officials presented the physical assets (buildings) allocation, space allocation for different departments in the Secretariat and reorganisation of police buildings in the wake of the AP Reorganisation Act-2014 coming into force from June 2.

The Governor advised the Chief Secretary and other senior officials to prepare a list of issues to be presented before the Union Home Secretary, who is likely to visit Hyderabad in the second week of May. Pradeep Chandra, Special Chief Secretary, presented a report on the measures to be adopted for the progress and development of successor States under the Schedule XIII and Section 93.

Sambob, Principal Secretary, briefed the Governor on the allotment of buildings at the Secretariat and said that minimum dislocation from the existing premises was followed in allotment of buildings to various heads of department in the Secretariat. There were 179 departments located in Hyderabad. All civil works taken up in the Secretariat and Legislative Assembly were in progress and the works would be completed before the schedule date, Sambob said. Nagi Reddy, Principal Secretary, presented the Contracts Committee’s recommendations. He said the data base of all existing contracts could be best used by both the proposed States by developing online system to monitor the physical and financial progress on a monthly basis and linking it to bills management system. The Resident Commissioner, Andhra Bhavan, New Delhi submitted the proposals of allotment of existing rooms as per guidelines to the new States.
