Hyderabad: Monsoon Likely to Be Delayed

Hyderabad: The southwest monsoon is likely to be delayed this year by five days. It will hit the Kerala coast by June 5, according to the Met office, as against the normal date of June 1. Normally, the monsoon enters the State by June 10 or in the second week of June. The rainfall this year is likely to be less than normal on account of the El Nino effect. The Met office on Thursday forecast rain or thundershowers at isolated places in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema during the next three days. It said mainly dry weather would prevail in Telangana. There would be no major change in the weather outlook during the subsequent four days. In Hyderabad, sky will be partly cloudy during the next 48 hours. Rain or thundershowers may occur in parts of the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 40 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
