The Telangana state's First Assembly Speaker was elected on Tuesday. The newly elected Speaker, Sirikonda Madhusudana Chary is a TRS MLA from Bhupalapally Assembly.
Madhusudhana Chary’s name was suggested by the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao yesterday soon after the MLA swearing-in was over. It is important to remember that KCR had a floor meeting and announced Chary’s name and he was unanimously elected though the Pro-term speaker K. Jana Reddy issued nominations for the post of Speaker.
Political buzz is that the Woman TRS leader of Medak District, MLA Padma Devender Reddy’s name is on the cards for the deputy Speaker’s post.
On the occasion of Speaker's election, K Chandrashekhara Rao conveyed his best wishes to Madhusdhana Chary. KCR also recognized the role and struggle that Chary has put into forming the new state and appreciated him in the Assembly.
