Hyderabad: After the bifurcation of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, the registration of corporate offices in Telangana and AP became hard-hitting. As many as 70,000 registered offices are there in Telangana, while about 20,000 registered offices are there in Andhra Pradesh.

As it is evident, most of the registered offices of corporate firms in Hyderabad are owned by entrepreneurs from Seemandhra region. After the bifurcation, now they want to set up their registered offices in Andhra Pradesh also, for if operated from Hyderabad, they should pay the taxes to either state Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

A similar case is followed by the firms of Andhra Pradesh willing to expand in Telangana. In the combined state till June this year, it was easier for companies with head office in Hyderabad to set up offices anywhere in Seemandhra. ‘e-Form 18’ has become mandatory now, as stipulated by ministry of corporate affairs, after the state bifurcation. With this, only 129 firms in Telangana and 187 in Seemandhra could register their offices in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, respectively.

Only those entrepreneurs who were aware of difficulties in setting up registered offices post bifurcation have come up with their offices well before the state bifurcation and for them the entire thing turned very easy. However, to all those who could not set up the registered offices as desired, the same turned a cumbersome activity.

As far as the small scale industries are concerned, they are hit the most by the state bifurcation. According to the owners of firms, the registration process has become unwieldy besides financially burdening small firms with paid-up capital of just Rs 1L as they end up paying Rs 25,000 for it.
