Top leaders of the two parties are said to have agreed to share the two ZP posts. In this regard, only an official announcement remains to be made. Of the 53 ZPTCs, the YSRCP had won 30, TDP 20 and Congress two. The Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samiti (RPS) had bagged one ZPTC membership.

Although YSRCP had the majority to secure the ZP chairmanship, its members switched over to TDP, as Jagan’s party failed to come to power in the State.
Eight YSRCP ZPTC members from Nandikotkur and Kodumur Assembly constituencies joined TDP in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, along with two of the Congress and the lone RPS. This increased the TDP strength to 31, while the YSRCP fell to 22. Either Rajesekhar (Orwakal) or Lakshmidevi (Nandikotkur) is to become the ZP vice-chairman.
