Andhra Pradesh: Renaming proposal of districts invites wrat

Hyderabad: It seems that apart from some necessary arguments that are unavoidable after the state bifurcation, few unnecessary arguments have also been coming up on the screen, which otherwise can be resolved through mere discussions. With the recent demand of Telugu Desam Party leaders to rename Srikakulam district after the deceased TDP leader Yearrannaidu, the situation has for sure turned tensed due to the Congress leaders counter demand to rename the district after a five times MP from the district Boddepalli Rajagopala Rao.

Also, demands from various other districts are in force. Few political groups have been demanding to rename Visakhapatnam district after Alluri Sita Rama Raju, a freedom fighter; and demands for renaming Krishna district after Nanadamuri Taraka Rama Rao for he was born in the same district.

At the time when the matter would be taken up seriously by the Andhra Pradesh state government, certainly there will be more such demands which would create a scuffle. All such demands would be associated with the political issues and benefits. Say for example the case of Yerrannaidu Vs Rajagopala Rao. So, the state government’s renaming proposal of the districts would of course invite wraths.
