Chandrababu Naidu’s one month as Chief Minister

Hyderabad: In the capacity of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu has completed one month time. Astoundingly, this one month passed for him without an office at the Secretariat and without taking any major decisions as well. According to the political analysts, it has been Naidu’ style to hold many review meetings, before taking any vital decision.

No sooner Naidu has sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh than he had signed on 5 vital files that include the loan waiver to farmers. This major decision has been still pending without any action. Partially, the NTR Sujala Scheme is set in motion. Recently, Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy has inaugurated the NTR Sujala Sravanthi Scheme at Srikalahasthi Municipal Office in Chittoor district, as part of beginning of fulfilling one of their promises made during the elections campaigning.

According to many, in the last one month the only major decision taken by Naidu is the proposal of cancellation of Power Purchase agreements (PPA). Even this crucial decision had to face lot of censure.

Though Naidu has been reportedly keen to establish the new capital of residuary Andhra Pradesh near Guntur-Vijayawada, the final decision could only be taken when Sivarama Krishnan committee’s report on this very matter would be received in August month.

Naidu claims a vast experience of being the Chief Minister for 9 years and 10yrs as the leader of opposition. Also, people have elected him to power with many aspirations to become true.

Yes, it’s not possible to rate a person in the very first month of his functioning. But, Naidu should have at least given people of his state an impression that he is doing something for them. The state’s capital issue may become another headache for Naidu in the near future. So, he may focus on the issue from now onwards and try to pacify the people so that at the actual time of declaration of the capital city, there will not be any major shake ups!!
