Vijayawada: In a surprise move, the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) Association has declared that it will help the Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu win the Telangana elections in 2019 elections.

APNGO president P Ashok Babu said that they have fought against bifurcation of the State. But when bifurcation was done, the employees had supported the TD in the elections as its chief Chandrababu Naidu had the experience and capabilities to develop the new State. He assured Naidu of the employees' total support to fulfill the dream of Telugu Desam to come back to power in Telangana also by 2019.

Leaders of various employees' unions like revenue services association Class IV employees, RTC employees and others also claimed that they had helped the Telugu Desam during the recent elections, believing that only Chandrababu Naidu would be able to develop the State.

Ashok Babu said that 90 per cent of the employees are not willing to stay back in Hyderabad and are ready to come to Andhra Pradesh anytime the government wants them. He further said the government employees are also ready to work even for more hours to build the residuary State and stand by the able leader.

APNGOs have also come forward to contribute their one-day basic pay for the welfare of the State. The seven lakh employees and the four lakh pensioners in the State would donate their one-day pay which is around Rs 70 crore. He requested the Chief Minister to use this money for fee reimbursement, pensions and ArogyaSri programmes.

Ashok Babu sought several favours from the Chief Minister for the government employees, including increasing retirement age to 60 years, solving the problems of the AP employees working in Telangana region, early settlement of the ACB cases against the employees and extension of health insurance.

Chandrababu Naidu thanked them for their support in the recent elections and welcomed their support in the years to come. He said he would hold a review meeting once in every three months and resolve their issues.
