Kurnool: Nine deer were killed in Tippaipalle in Orwagallu mandal of Kurnool district on Wednesday after eating poisoned maize. Farmers are said to have used insecticide to get rid of pests affecting the maize plantations.
Deer have been frequenting the plantation and eating corn in the recent past. The animals were suspected to have died after consuming maize laced with insecticide, after reaching the village in search of food. Forest Officer Chandrasekhar visited the village and conducted post-mortem of the carcasses.
