Hyderabad: Is trouble brewing in YSRCP? The party’s Legislature Party meeting held here on Sunday under the chairmanship of the party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was in for a rude shock as 20 out of 67 MLAs failed to turn up. The meeting was organised on the eve of the budget session of the state Assembly. This has fuelled speculations that some of the MLAs are sitting on the fence.

Taken aback by the development, the party president asked the senior members to see that the party legislators attend the Assembly in full strength. He told the members and leaders that they should be well prepared and actively participate in debates and talk to the point, instead of indulging in acrimony. He stressed that the members should keep themselves abreast of facts and corner the government on various issues.

However, the YSRCP decided not to attend the Business Advisory Committee meeting to be held on Monday. The party was peeved over the government not agreeing to have four members from the party on the committee, instead of two only at present. But the government said as per rules YSRCP was entitled only for two members and it would strictly follow the rules.

Jagan asked his party members to raise only people's issues on the floor of the house. He stressed the need to fight unitedly against the government's anti-poor policies.
