Kurnool: Srisailam Right Branch Canal (SRBC) breached at Pandlapuram of Banaganapalli mandal in the district. The roads were badly damaged and transport between Nandyal and Banaganapalli came to a standstill. Thousands of cusecs of water is flowing into Somalavagu through the fields resulting in heavy crop loss.

An RTC bus was caught in the flood of the overflowing Somalavagu. However, all the bus passengers have managed to come out safe.

Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao reviewed the situation and directed the district collector and other officers to plug the breach.

District Collector CH Vijay Mohan visited the spot and spoke to the officers concerned. He said that this problem would be rectified by tomorrow.

On the other hand, Srisailam reservoir is receiving heavy inflow from upstream. The inflow is 1, 42,993 cusecs whereas the outflow is 54,808 cusecs. The full reservoir level is 885 feet. Now the water level in the Srisailam reservoir has reached to 874.50 feet.
