Speaking to ‘The Hans India’, convener of UFBU (Rajahmundry division) N Lakshmipathi Rao faulted the Indian Bank Associations (IBA) for not implementing pay hike as part of 10th Bipartite Settlement, which was pending since 2012.

Though the bank unions conceded to wage hike of 23 per cent instead of their earlier demand for 25 per cent, the IBA was adamant with its 11 per cent wage hike offer, he lamented. Clearance of eight crore cheques worth Rs 5.69 crore was stalled due to the one-day strike in the southern region, he added. Leaders of UFBU, including KRK Reddy, GS Prasad, Samson, Addam Raju, NV Satyannarayana, KSN Murthy, Seshagiri Prasad, Sundaram, Venkata Raju, Ramesh, Appa Rao, Chintamani Srinivas, Rambabu, Devudu, Sai, Pullayya and PRO MPRV Vital took part in the demonstration held at Kotipalli Bus Stand in Rajahmundry.
