YSRCP, Congress leaders join BJP
The YSRCP received another jolt in the city, as top leader of the party Chokkakula Venkata Rao joined BJP in the presence of State president of the party and Lok Sabha member K Haribabu here on Saturday. Venkata Rao lost to BJP candidate P Vishnu Kumar Raju in the recent general election.

We are not promising them with any posts. All are welcome to join without pre conditions and have to take up work as per the party direction,’’ said K Haribabu while interacting with the media. Venkata Rao said he was frustrated with the dictatorial attitude of YSRCP president Y S Jagan and hence decided to quit and join BJP where he would be getting more space and respect.

Congresss leader Thota Vijayalakshmi, who lost to TDP’s M Srinivasa Rao for the Anakapalle Lok Sabha constituency, would be joining BJP on Sunday. Congress leaders from various wards would follow her on Sunday.
The BJP is in upbeat mood following the massive enrolment of the second rung leaders from major parties. The party which had no elected representative in any of the bodies since 2002 has suddenly began blooming. According to senior political leaders, the corporation elections are around the corner and the second rung leaders trying their luck to get the party ticket.
