Hyderabad: Criticising the Telugu Desam government for failing to keep its promise on regularisation of outsourcing and (Indira Kranthi Patham) IKP employees in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress Party leaders on Monday staged a walkout from the House.

Raking up the issue in the Assembly, Leader of the Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy flayed the State government for being dictatorial and arresting IKP agitators for seeking permanent posts.

“The government has become ruthless and running away from its promise of regularising services of IKP and other contract employees. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who had promised jobs to youth and deserving people earlier left them in lurch, he noted. Jagan said his party was staging a walkout in protest against "dictatorial" attitude of the government.

Later, Legislature Affairs Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu found fault with the YSRCP for trying to take on the ruling party. “It is not correct for the Opposition party to provoke and stage protest. It should talk to the government on any issue,” he said. The Minister said the government was looking into the issue of providing unemployment allowance to the youth and added that it was discussing the issue of regularisation of contract and outsourcing employees. A sub-committee was also working on the issue, he informed.

The Minister said no decision has been taken yet on naming the new capital city after NTR. The government would focus on the issue only after completion of land pooling for the capital city, he said, adding that some prominent people were coming forward to adopt some villages near the capital city. The Chief Minister is likely to make a statement on crop loan waiver issue. The House would take up debate on capital Region Development Authority Plan, amendment to Education Act and VAT, Yanamala added.
