Narsapur (West Godavari): MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu on Tuesday said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had agreed in principle to his proposal for setting up a super specialty hospital in Narsapur.

He laid foundation stone for an ANM training centre and a hostel for women health workers in the fifth ward of the town. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Chief Minister had also agreed for upgrading the existing government hospital with 100 beds to provide better medical care to people of the revenue division.

The MLA said that he had already asked the officials concerned to prepare the project report and estimates for the super specialty hospital. The Chief Minister would announce his decision on setting up of the super specialty hospital in Narsapur soon, he said.

The MLA said that the ANM training centre to be constructed at a cost of Rs 2.3 crore was the first centre in West Godavari district.

The centre with an intake of 40 students, would offer an 18-month ANM course. Initially, the ANM training centre would be started in rented premises from March 2015. After completion of the building, it would be shifted to the new premises.

Deputy DM&HO K Suchitra, executive engineer I Vijaykumar, mandal parishad president V Kanakaraju, ZPTC member Balapratap and others were present.
