ONGC provides infra to 33 schools in 3 districts

Rajahmundry: ONGC's KG-PG Basin led by Karuppuswamy, Executive Director-Basin Manager, Krishna Godavari-Pranahita Godavari Basin (KG-PG Basin), extended aid to strengthen school infrastructure in Krishna, East and West Godavari districts on Monday.

The beneficiaries include 33 schools in the operational areas of the ONGC.

These educational institutions received an assistance of Rs 34.66 lakh (under CSR for the year 2014-15) towards school building repair charges, for installing fans, water purifiers, computers, Invertors, UPS and dual desks, chairs, tables and steel almyrahs manufactured by the inmates of Central Jail, Rajahmundry.

Administrative Officer from the Central Jail thanked the ONGC for giving an opportunity to the inmates of the jail for making educational infrastructure as it helps in their reformative process. Addressing the gathering of school headmasters on the occasion, P R Bhavana, General Manager (Geology) and Head of the Forward Base said the ONGC owed its success to the cooperation of the people in its operational areas. He urged the beneficiaries to use the funds for the purposes intended.

The entire programme was co-ordinated by Mr. B.Ratnam, DGM (Geology) and V R Moorthi, Chief Geologist.
