Kakinada: Works for the forthcoming Godavari Pushkarams should be expedited after completion of tenders process by different departments, In-charge District Collector R Muthyala Raju instructed the officials here. He reviewed the progress of works of Godavari Pushkarams with the officials of various departments at the Collectorate in Kakinada on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Muthyala Raju said that administrative as well as technical permissions have been issued for the first phase works proposed by Roads and Buildings department at a cost of Rs 87.55 crore. He directed the officials to start road development works by completing tenders process quickly. He maintained that proposals were sent for the second phase works at an estimated cost of Rs 112.58 crore in connection with ghat barricading and for repairs to the guest houses.

He said the tender process for allocation of works up to Rs 19 crore has been completed out of total works proposed by the Municipal Corporation of Rajahmundry at a cost of Rs 30 crore. He said the construction works of four new sub-stations, out of the seven new sub-stations proposed by AP Transco, commenced. He directed the officials to take up works of remaining three sub-stations by completing site allocation process immediately. He explained that tender process has been completed to the works up to Rs 14.25 crore out of total works worth Rs 55.15 crore proposed by the Endowments department.

He directed the irrigation officials to launch the works proposed to be taken up at a total cost of Rs 47.40 crore. He asked the RWS officials to take up construction of individual latrines in 26 mandals. He suggested that the issues which have to be resolved by coordination between various departments should be proposed at a high-level meeting scheduled to be held on January 7.
