Speaking to reporters, Jagan came down heavily on the on the officials of the Roads and Buildings Department for their slipshod management. He flayed the government also for keeping old vehicle, which are not in condition, operating. He demanded that the government announce Rs 25 lakh ex gratia to the kin of the dead and Rs 5 each for the injured. Jagan also visited the villages and consoled the family members of those who died in the accident.

Raghuveera Reddy expressed anguish over the incident. He faund fault with RTC for reducing the number of bus services on Penukonda route. He demanded that the government extend Rs 10 lakh the next kin of the dead.
