Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) Employees Union general secretary Y Venkateswara Rao on Friday opposed the ‘Road Transport and Safety Bill 2014 of the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre.

Speaking at a union convention here, Rao said the bill would affect the interests of State Road Transport Corporations in the country. It would also be detrimental to the interests of RTC employees and workers. The union would hold a convention with intellectuals and national trade union leaders to chalk out a course of action to get the bill withdrawn. The venue and the date of the convention would be announced soon, he said.

Employees Union State vice-presidents M Hanumantha Rao, B Prabhakar Rao, secretaries A Ramachandra Rao, G Srinivasa Rao, S Chandrababu, treasurer PV Bhavani, zonal secretary MD Prasad, regional secretary YS Rao and other leaders attended the convention.
