Cricket betting racket busted
DSP Ramakrishnaiah said here on Sunday that two persons involved in cricket betting were arrested in Khazipeta mandal near here. The police seized Rs 20,000 in cash, four mobile phones and a television set from them.

Likewise, the police also seized Rs. 1.18 lakh from Ammireddi Suba Reddy of Nadimpalle village in Mydukuru mandal. Gathering information from him, the police swooped on U Rajagopal Reddy and U Sivasankar Reddy of Guttikottalu village in Khazipeta mandal on the charges of organising cricket betting. It is learnt that these crooks have connections with some others in Proddatur town. The police said that they would also be arrested soon. The police appealed to people not to lose their hard-earned money by indulging in cricket betting. Rural CI Nagabhushanam and SI Narasimha Reddy were also present.
