Eluru (West Godavari): TDP MP and former minister J C Diwakar Reddy on Sunday strongly criticised AICC President Sonia Gandhi, blaming her for bifurcating the State with a ‘motive’.
Speaking to the media here, Reddy hit out at Sonia Gandhi, alleging that the Congress party’s decision to divide the State was akin to the killing of Abhimanyu during the Mahabharata episode.
The MP described the State’s division as ‘haphazard’ leading to a ‘clash of interests between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, like in the case of India and Pakistan’. The former Congress leader recalled his statement prior to the State’s division that the party interests would suffer a severe damage. ‘It became a reality now’, he averred. Reddy expressed anguish over the delay in the Centre making good the loss suffered by Andhra Pradesh and according a special category status to the newly-created State.
