The 14th Finance Commission had failed to recognize the needs of states like AP and did not give any solutions to them said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today.

While addressing media over video conference from Kuppam, his constituency where he is camping for the last three days with a spate of development and welfare activities, Chandrababu Naidu said that the 14th Finance Commission has failed in granting special grants.

He said that spread over 5 years, the financial commission had granted Rs.22, 113 crore but has not taken into count the special situation of the divided state without revenue generation engines. Also, that the FinCom has only filled up the revenue deficit but no allocations has been made for any development activities. CM Naidu also added that without central assistance there could not be any development activities in the state.

Clearly the chief minister's ire is obvious over the centre coming out with any specific announcement on the funding of the new capital and other centrally programs. However, BJP leader and Union minister Venkaiah Naidu indicated that to meet the immediate demands of the new states, the budget will provide adequate resources.
