Guntur: The State government has released Rs 2.3 crore for purchase of equipment for undertaking heart surgeries in the Government Hospital here. As part of plans to upgrade it to a superspeciality hospital, the government had earlier given Rs 1.5 crore to it for procuring world-class equipment.
The hospital authorities have already placed orders for equipment and machinery for taking up heart surgeries from April 2015. The hospital has already taken up kidney transplantation and dialysis.
