Kavita Prasad, who served as the director of Department of Culture in the combined state of Andhra Pradesh was well known for his avadhanams. He performed more than 500 avadhanams, including different form of the art of ‘avadhana’ like ‘satavadhanam’, ‘dvisatavadhanam’. Hailing from the Nemali village in Gampalagudem mandalam in Krishna district, he had his doctorate degree from the Osmania University, on‘avadhanam vidya’.
