AP capital master plan Phase 1 delivered by Singapore With the 7,325 sq km Capital Region Plan completed for the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, Singapore on Monday delivered the Phase I of the master plan to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

With the 7,325 sq km Capital Region Plan completed for the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, Singapore on Monday delivered the Phase I of the master plan to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The other two stages of the three-stage capital city master plan covering 125 sq km along with a comprehensive seed development master plan of about 8 sq km - are likely to be submitted by the end of May.

Phase 1 master plan intends to urbanize Nandigama, Nuzividu, Sattenapally and Tenali while the area around Gudivada, Pamarru, Guntur and Tenali are to be developed into an agriculture zone with a Greenfield airport to be set up at Mangalagiri. Also, a high speed rail connection between Gannavaram and the core capital city is in the planning.


Meanwhile, Chandrababu suggested some modifications to the master plan that included the construction of two ring roads, few radial roads connecting the capital region to various other cities in the state. Also that Vijayawada will be developed as the trade hub, Nandigama for pharma industries, Amaravati town an international tourist hub and Guntur as a centre for agro-processing industries.


These modifications are said to be carried out by the Singapore delegation, headed by trade minister S Eswaran who assured the CM that all stages of the master plan will be delivered to AP by the end of May.
