Stating that TDP is reluctant to pressurize Centre for Andhra Pradesh’s Special Status, YSR Congress on Sunday said that the ruling TDP is not taking the Opposition into confidence.

YSR Congress Party MLA B Rajendranath Reddy said that the issue was never raised on leading a delegation to Delhi which is the reason behind conflicting and confusing reports from the Centre on the special status issue.

Stating that special status would benefit Andhra Pradesh for Central grants besides rapid industrialization, YSR Congress MLA said that even though the assurance of special status was given by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the Rajya Sabha, amongst the presence of senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh, the TDP government is not pressing for it.

He alleged that TDP’s silence gives rise to doubts so as to cover up its own fallacies which include the irregularities in the capital formation and the Pattiseema projects.
