Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh government has decided not to take retaliatory measure by imposing inter-state entry tax on transport and good carriers. The government feels that such a decision would adversely affect people of both the states, according to Transport Minister Sidda Raghavarao. Addressing media here on Saturday he asked the Telangana State government to have a rethink on the decision it had taken in regard to levy taxes on goods and transport vehicles coming from Andhra Pradesh.

The Minister said the AP government had taken the decision against the backdrop of State High Court giving interim orders asking the transport operators to pay inter-state vehicle tax, and also asking AP to file a counter. He said the AP government would once again ask the Telangana State to withdraw its GO, imposing the tax as it was posing hardship to the people.
