The tiff between the AP Government and farmers is getting intense with opposition parties joining the farmers to protest against the government's bid of land pooling of 15,000 acres to build the Greenfield Airport in Bhogapuram on the border of Vizag and Vizianagaram.


Under the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's supervision, the AP government has promised the farmers who are not willing to give away their lands, to compensate with totally developed lands in the future. However, the farmers are not ready to believe the government after failing to compensate the Hudhud cyclone losses.


Farmers are questioning the need for 15,000 acres of land for the Bhogapuram Airport. Comparing to the other airports – London Airport built in 3,000 acres, Mumbai Airport built in 1,900 acres and Chennai Airport built in 1,300 acres; the need for 15, 000 acres of land is not convincing the farmers.
