Friendships and hostilities in politics are like water bubbles. TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu who hoped to capitalize on his poll alliance with BJP after bifurcation has been disappointed and is pushing his own agenda and distancing from the BJP. The Special status issue soured up BJP and TDP relations further with the BJP state leaders feeling the pinch.

It appears that both TDP and BJP, poll ally's of 2014 are now at logger heads after the BJP deflated the TDP hopes on ‘special status' to AP. Chandrababu is unhappy over the BJP ignoring him and even PM Narendra Modi had turned a blind eye towards Naidu's mega drive with Singapore, Japan and China. Besides, the TDP Chief is annoyed over the BJP claims to assume power by 2019 in either Telangana or AP.

First of the reactions of the TDP was to encourage its cadres to burn effigies of centre and Venkaiah Naidu for not giving special status as he also rejected all nominations of Delhi and Hyderabad BJP leaders for TTD Board along with Vijayawada Kanakadurgamma temple. Naidu is also not keen to give any more MLC seats to BJP either.

Almost immediately the BJP has sent indications that it is keeping nomination of TDP Telangana leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu as Governor of a North East state in abeyance. Similarly the Urban surface ministry has also delayed several grants which were announced to the tune of Rs.1000 crore to state for urban infrastructure.
