After much deliberations and profound discussions, finally the works for building the new capital of Andhra Pradesh will officially begin on the auspicious day of June 6. The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has given its nod for laying foundation stone to the new State capital at Amaravathi on June 6.

Hyderabad: After much deliberations and profound discussions, finally the works for building the new capital of Andhra Pradesh will officially begin on the auspicious day of June 6. The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has given its nod for laying foundation stone to the new State capital at Amaravathi on June 6.


Disclosing the Cabinet decision, Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao said as June 4, 5 and 6 were considered as auspicious days, it was decided to hold ‘bhoomi puja’ and lay foundation stone on June 6. Apart from this, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would enter into his camp office in Vijayawada before June 2. The Chief Minister would operate from the new camp office for three to four days in a week or depending on the need.
