Visakhapatnam: After a long lull, the outlawed CPI (Maoist) activists and police personnel exchanged fire in the Cheedimetta area of Bodaralla panchayat under Kovuru mandal on Wednesday. There were no casualties or injuries on either side. The police found a torch light and a couple of batteries at the site.

After a brief exchange of fire, the Maoists receded into the deep forest. The team might have been led by a dreaded Maoist Kudumula Ravi, who carries a reward on his head.
