Hyderabad : Formation of separate party committees for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and also a national committee, may get further delayed as the TDP supremo N Chandrabau Naidu is serious to address the ‘political turmoil’ surfaced in the Telangana party unit, after the cash-for-vote scam unearthed by Telangana ACB recently, involving his party leaders.

In the 34th Mahandu-party’s annual meet, held recently in city, party elected Naidu as the first president to the party’s national committee and also decided to constitute separate party committees for the two States. The party authorised Naidu to select the committee presidents and members in the meeting. Naidu is supposed to form all the committees after the ground breaking ceremony of the new capital city at Mandam village on June 6.

He reportedly decided to nominate A Revanth Redy, who was arrested in the scam and released on bail later, as the head of Telangana TDP unit and another senior leader K Venkat Rao as the AP unit chief. Members in committees have also been finalised. Party sources said that, stunned by the impact on the party in Telangana due to the scam, Naidu is learnt to have decided to take more time to create the new committees.

Sources said that Naidu may take a decision on formation of AP party unit in one or two months depending on the political developments and for TS party unit, he is not ready to form committee until the party comes out of crisis.Party senior leader Revanth is already in trouble and senior leaders Vem Narendar Reddy and party MLA S Venkata Veeraiah received notices from the investigating agency.
