With TDP winning both the Prakasam district and Kurnool MLC seats, the YSRCP announced the boycott. YSRCP earlier this morning nominated its candidate and announced the boycott, however, as the date for withdrawal of nomination expired - the party could not withdraw its candidate’s nomination.

TDP candidate Prakasam District MLC seat Magunta Srinivasula Reddy was polled 711 votes while Kurnool MLC seat TDP candidate Silpa Chakrapani Reddy was polled 600 votes against YSRCP candidate’s 474.
