70L take dip in 4 days, huge rush likely in weekend
Pilgrims from all over the State are flocking to different bathing ghats in Rajahmundry to take holy dip in River Godavari in the ongoing Godavari Maha Pushkaralu. About 20 lakh pilgrims took holy dip in various bathing ghats in the town and surrounding areas by 3 pm on Friday. More than 70 lakh pilgrims have taken holy dip during the last four days and it is expected that more pilgrims will arrive in Rajahmundry on Saturday and Sunday.

About 20 lakh pilgrims took holy dip in various bathing ghats in the town and surrounding areas by 3 pm on Friday. More than 70 lakh pilgrims have taken holy dip during the last four days and it is expected that more pilgrims will arrive in Rajahmundry on Saturday and Sunday.
The police department is kept on alert and Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa has directed the officials to take extra measures to cater to the needs of the pilgrims and their safety. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu monitored the situation till early hours of Friday before leaving for Vijayawada. He later conducted a tele-conference with the officials of various departments from Vijayawada.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said entrepreneurs were invited to Rajahmundry to participate in the workshop on infrastructural facilities for industrial development in the State. The meet will be conducted on July 20 and top executives of various industries are expected to take part. A detailed discussion would be held on infrastructure and industrial development which covers small and medium industries.
The Minister took part in a workshop on ‘Smart villages and smart wards’ at Anam Kalakendram in Rajahmundry on Friday. He further said that the State government was organising workshops on State development during Godavari Pushkaralu at Rajahmundry and involving experts and subject specialists to ensure a thorough discussion on various subjects.
A special workshop on ‘Navya Andhra Pradesh’ would also be conducted on July 20. Eswaran, Singapore Minister, along with 30 other members would participate in this meet and handover seed capital master plan to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He further said that Spiritual Guru Jaggi Vasudev, Paripoornanada Swami and Brahmakumaris would also participate in ‘Yoga and spiritual meet’ to be held on July 23.
