Speaking at a public meeting, after the inauguration of PHC building constructed at a cost of Rs 70 lakh at Velangi village in Karapa mandal of East Godavari district on Sunday, the Minister said that the TDP government has given utmost priority for development of both education and medical care in the State.

“In this connection, we have taken up special drive for filling up of vacant doctor and para medical staff posts,” he said. The Minister complemented residents of Velangi for funding the entire cost of construction of PHC building.

Turning his attention towards availability of medicines at reasonable prices, the Minister said that members of women self-help groups are being provided with the necessary permissions to start generic medical shops at different places in the State.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa assured 30-bedded hospital for mandal headquarters Karapa and also speedy completion of Peddapurappadu lift irrigation scheme. Kakinada MP Thota Narasimham and East Godavari ZP chairperson Namana Rambabu also spoke. Kakinada rural MLA Pilli Ananta Lakshmi presided over the meeting.
